City of Springfield, City Water, Light & Power is issuing public notice of a controlled prairie burn planned to begin next week, which will occur over various periods through April.

What: Controlled Burning of Prairie for Ecological Management.

Where: Five sites within the marginal lands of Lake Springfield; Caravan Lane, Fox Mill Lane, Orchards Lane (2), and East Lake Shore Drive.

When: Various days between April 6 - April 30 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. when winds are light from 5-15 mph and out of the south.
