City of Springfield, City Water, Light and Power is issuing public notice of a controlled prairie burn planned to begin next week, which will occur over various periods through April.

What:              Controlled Burning of Prairie for Ecological Management.

Where:            North of the Spaulding Dam and on the east side of Sugar Creek.

When:             Various days between February 17 –April 30 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. when winds are light from 5 -15 mph and out of the south.
