Lake Springfield Watercraft Registration Now Open

March 18, 2026

As the warmer months approach, it’s time to start planning for another great season on Lake Springfield. City Water, Light and Power (CWLP) is pleased to announce that watercraft registration for the 2026 boating season is now officially open.

Boat owners who registered their watercraft for the 2025 season should receive their renewal notices in the mail. To ensure uninterrupted access to the lake, completed renewals must be submitted by June 30, 2026

CWLP offers convenient options to make the registration process as simple as possible. Boaters can complete their registration and payment online on the CWLP website, or they can download, print, and mail in an application here: https://www.cwlp.com/LakesParksHome/LakesParksInformation/Boating.aspx

For those who prefer to register in person, boat licenses are also available during regular business hours at several convenient locations:
  • CWLP Security Office (3100 Stevenson Drive)
  • Lake Springfield Marina (I-55 Exit 88)
  • The Boat Dock (3111 Cockrell Lane)
CWLP is committed to providing a safe, enjoyable experience for all Lake Springfield visitors. Registering your watercraft on time not only ensures compliance with local regulations but also supports the continued maintenance and operation of the lake for everyone to enjoy.
