Let us help navigate if solar is right for your property and get familiar with the benefits and considerations before taking on a lease agreement or purchase.

 What Solar Does CWLP Have?
250 kW mySolar subscription program
Coming in 2028, two purchase contracts equal to 12% of CWLP customer load.

What’s Net Metering?
Customers with under 25 kW of solar can be eligible for the full retail rate for production through Net Metering. The customer is billed zero kWh when the solar array produces more power than is used in a property during the billing period as the net meter moves in reverse in this situation. Any excess energy is credited for future use until cleared each March for a billing re-set.
Your CWLP bill will show the energy delivered and received each month along with any banked credits.

First Step: Get A Home Energy Audit

The steps you take to make your home more energy efficient are very important to lowering your electric usage and costs, which helps set a lower baseline for the size and cost of solar installation you may need. After you have your electric costs and usage compiled, compare this to the cost of solar panels over time with financing and the projected production and potential energy savings, along with your goals.

Next Step: Size System To Meet Goals
Getting the the right size solar project for your year-round energy usage and not signing up for a system that is over-built beyond your needs is key. If your solar array produces more electricity than what is used during a billing period, you are billed for zero kWh and any excess is banked for future use until each March billing cycle when the banked credits are expired. Be aware, unless you have a battery, in hours without sunlight, you will draw energy from CWLP.
