CWLP and the City of Springfield, in partnership with the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce, celebrated the completion of Springfield’s electric vehicle (EV) charging project on September 28.Made possible through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Grant Program, the project adds 40 new Level 2 charging ports across nine locations throughout Springfield, including downtown, UIS, parks, retail areas and other high-traffic destinations.
The expanded network makes EV charging more accessible, supports local businesses and helps build infrastructure for Springfield’s future.
