All General Contractors interested in bidding on this program are required to attend a pre-bid meeting scheduled for August 26th, starting promptly at 8:00 a.m., at the CWLP/Energy Services Office 1008 E. Miller Street, Conference Room 2. There is also a required contractors’ walkthrough of 11 homes scheduled for energy improvements immediately following the pre-bid meeting. The walkthrough schedule and bid packets for each home will be distributed at the pre-bid meeting. Bids will only be accepted from General Contractors who attend the pre-bid meeting and walkthrough.
General Contractors who submit bids must also meet the bidding requirements set by the City of Springfield and the Helping Homes Program
• Proof of general liability insurance of at least $1,000,000 in general aggregate coverage
• State-mandated workman’s compensation insurance
• Applicable state/local licensing (i.e., plumbing, lead, electrical, etc.).
Prior to project closeout and payment for work performed, contractors will be required to report employee wage information sufficient to verify that all workers were paid the current prevailing wage.
All bids must be received by, September 19th, 3:30 pm at the City of Springfield Office of Budget and Management, Room 210-Municipal Center, West 300 South Seventh Street Springfield, IL 62701-1681.
