Did you know that CWLP offers a Senior Citizen Discount? This program, designed for eligible seniors based on income, provides a 10% reduction on standard electric rates. Seniors can enjoy financial relief while keeping their homes powered and comfortable.
Eligible customers can sign up for the Senior Citizen Discount at the CWLP Customer Service Office at Municipal Center West -300 S. 7th Street - Room 101. Applicants can also print CWLP’s online application and submit it with copies of the required documents noted above, to the following address.

Eligibility Requirements for Senior Citizens:
- Must be 62 years or older
- Must have the service account in their name
- Must have a total household income not exceeding 300% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines
(In 2026, the maximum qualifying income is $47,880 for a single-person household and $64,920 for a multi-person household.)
Be sure to bring one of the following documents to verify your age:
- A valid driver's license, State of Illinois ID card, birth certificate, or Medicare card.
Additionally, any relevant documents to demonstrate your income eligibility:
- Wage statements
-The first page of your Federal Income Tax Form 1040
- Social Security benefits statement
- Retirement/pension information
- Interest/dividend income statements
- The Circuit Breaker Form
