In the major winter storm predicted, the US National Weather Service says heavy snow will impact most of central and southeast Illinois from late Saturday night through Monday morning and winds look to be strong enough Sunday night to produce some areas of blowing and drifting snow. Frigid temperatures will follow next week.
Severe weather like this can cause power outages so if you’re at home and the power goes out, please know CWLP crews will work to restore power as efficiently as possible without compromising safety.
When there are widespread outages, besides our Outage map, https://outagemap.cwlp.com/, we will update our Facebook and Twitter pages with the latest information to help get the word out to you and help free up resources for our Dispatch team and crews to be able to employ their most efficient response.
Remember you can use your street address # and phone # associated with your CWLP account to check outage status at your property from our Outage Map. You can ensure we have your correct phone number on file to use that map—by updating it with CWLP Customer Service at 217-789-2030 or cwlp.customer@cwlp.com. Note during very large outages it will take some time for outage map updates and restoration estimates aren’t always possible. You can also report new or unknown outages and damaged equipment or downed power lines to 217-789-2121.
