This is an enlargement of photo number 9, taken from the old Spaulding Dam road above the dam gates. Once the gate bay is ready, a crane begins lifting the new gate leaf from the back of a semi-tractor trailer parked on the old dam bridge. The gate is approximately 45 feet long and 8 feet high and weighs roughly 13 tons.
