needs in mind. Each is free upon request to CWLP electric customers.

THE MONEY-BACK HOME ENERGY
AUDIT Home Efficiency Handbook: The Home Efficiency Handbook is designed to help you understand the factors that affect your home energy costs and comfort and to teach you the steps you can take to lower your energy consumption, save money and increase comfort. The Handbook covers a wide range of efficiency-related topics and contains efficiency-improvement recommendations. The key to saving home energy is two-fold. First, you must understand the factors that can affect your home's efficiency level which this book helps you do. Second, you need to know how to choose and prioritize the improvements that will offer you the most cost-effective means of minimizing heat loss and gain and maximizing the energy output of your various energy systems. Heat Pump: The All-Season Comfort System: For many Springfield homes and businesses, a high-efficiency heat pump is likely to be the most economical year-round comfort system available -- providing lower cost heating and cooling than either fossil fuel furnace/central air conditioner or electric resistance furnace/central air conditioner combinations. Installing heat pumps in their homes and offices can also qualify City Water, Light and Power customers for CWLP's Heat Pump Rebate program. Our recently updated publication, Heat Pump: The All-Season Comfort System, is designed to increase your understanding of what a heat pump is and how it might help you improve your energy-related comfort and economy. The booklet is written in a concise, easy-to-read style, beginning with what a heat pump is and how it works and covering the benefits of heat pump ownership. Fluorescent Facts: Compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) with their high-efficiency, long life and ease of use offer you a practical way to achieve high-quality lighting while, at the same time, reducing your home energy and other lighting-related costs. This booklet will help you learn the efficient and economical facts about compact fluorescent lighting and how you can use it for your benefit. CFL Product & Vendor List: More than just a listing of compact fluorescents available at local retailers, this regularly updated publication compares the light outputs of various CFLs to other CFLs and incandescent bulbs. It also provides price and style information and informs you of which lamps are: dimmable; magnetically ballasted; and particularly suited to use in outdoor fixtures and reading lamps. How to Read Your Meter: If you're interested in keeping better track of your daily, weekly or monthly electricity or water consumption, this pamphlet will show you how to do it by explaining the order and direction in which to read each dial on your electric and water meters, as well as how to compare readings from one period to another.
