As part of our commitment to helping make our environment cleaner, CWLP has entered into two 10-year contracts with FPL Energy for the purchase of 120 megawatts (MW) of wind power. This green energy will be produced at FPL's Hancock and Osceola Wind Farms, both of which are located in Northern Iowa.

The purchase of 20 MW of wind-generated energy commenced in July 2007 and the purchase of the remaining 100 MW is expected to begin in 2008. At that time, utility officials estimate CWLP's total wind power purchases over a full year will produce enough renew-able energy to supply the equivalent of nearly 20% of CWLP's native energy requirements.
