Senior Citizen Discount

CWLP offers a special rate to any residential electric service customer who:

n is 62 years of age or older,
n has the service account in his/her name, and
n has a total household income no greater than 275% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. (In 2012, the maximum qualifying income is $30,718 per single-person household and $41,608 per multi-person household.)

The Senior Citizen Discount Rate represents a 10% discount on the rate that would normally apply.

Eligible customers can sign up for the Senior Citizen Discount in the CWLP Customer Service Office, Room 101, Municipal Center West (300 S. 7th Street, on the corner of 7th and Monroe). Be sure to bring one of the following documents to prove your age (a valid driver's license, State of Illinois ID Card, birth certificate, or Medicare Card) and all of the applicable following documents to prove your income eligibility (wage statements, first page of your Federal Income Tax Form 1040, Social Security benefit statement, retirement/pension information, interest/dividend income statements, and Circuit Breaker Form).
